By The Honest Trainer

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association introduces students in private and public middle and secondary schools to equestrian sports and promotes and improves the quality of equestrian competition and instruction.

  1. Reason #1: You don't have to own your own horse

IEA is one of the few equestrian competitions that you ride strictly school horses.

  2. Reason #2: You can be any level of riding

Classes are offered in 4 levels: beginner, novice, intermediate and open, so anyone can compete!

  3. Reason #3: IEA is offered to students grades 6 through 12

Middle School and High School teams are available and students can start at any time.

  4. Reason #4: Riders have the chance to win scholarships

The IEA awards a total of $15,000 in scholarships to top placing and second highest placing seniors at National Finals

  5. Reason #5: You get to be a part of a team at your school

Soccer and field hockey aren't for everyone. If riding is your only sport, now you can be a part of a team at your school!
